This cushion was re-covered with some calico painted with acrylic with tassel trims.

Bamboo frame with calico stretched on it and then velvet patchwork–acrylic on calico centrepiece–about one metre wide.

It takes longer to stitch real stitches than to paint them but you cant beat the tactile texture of textiles.
