Lamp-shade

This lampshade will hang low over the eight-ball table (not over the bathtub)

The second picture shows the light coming through the semi-transparent parchment and silhouetting the ragged trim to dramatic effect. It has a thin bamboo frame.

Multi media assemblage

This started with the bamboo being dug from the ground roots and all–the roots were trimmed to form a knob and cloth, paint, stitching added to taste.

Arts and Crafts

Bamboo frame with calico stretched on it and then velvet patchwork–acrylic on calico centrepiece–about one metre wide.

It takes longer to stitch real stitches than to paint them but you cant beat the tactile texture of textiles.
